Who will be the 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year?

Registration for the 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year Award is now open. Directors of companies that combine growth and profitability are invited to take part in this prestigious competition by submitting their applications online at www.ey.com/fr/eoy before the beginning of May.

Many people actively contribute to the economy and society, but some particularly stand out due to their talent and audacity, driven by an indomitable desire to create, grow and share. For more than 26 years, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award has been honouring these men and women who create wealth and jobs in France. In 2018, a total of 304 entrepreneurs, covering every category of activity, participated in the programme. Overall, these candidates represented more than €15 billion in turnover, some 110,000 employees and €1 billion of capital raised by start-ups.

The Entrepreneur of the Year Award will be presented next September in eight major French regions: Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Est, Ile-de-France, Nord de France, Nouvelle Aquitaine, Ouest, Sud-Est and Occitanie. The winners from each region will then go through to the national awards ceremony, to be held in October 2019 in Paris.

This year, the 27th Entrepreneur of the Year Award will be adopting a slightly different approach in order to showcase a greater number of entrepreneurs, because we are convinced that business performance is not just a question of financial results. The Award will therefore take into account the entrepreneurs’ commitment, and not just financial performance.

The Entrepreneur of the Year Award is organised by EY, in partnership with Verlingue, HSBC France, and Steelcase, the world leader in office furniture and fittings for the service sector, with the support of Bpifrance.
