Verlingue reorganises its governance and reasserts its ambitions

Verlingue announces the departure of Eric Maumy, CEO since 2005. The insurance broker reorganises its governance : Jacques Verlingue is taking over the general management and the Executive Committee is expanding to include Jean-Marc Esvant and Benjamin Verlingue.

 

Jean-Marc Esvant, until now Director of Employee Benefits, becomes Director of Front Office. He is tasked with leading Verlingue in a new stage of its development in consulting and services in risk management and employee benefits. He is taking over from Frédéric Grand in this position, who will leave the group next November, after two years at Verlingue during which he was particularly involved in the international development.
Aged 50, Jean-Marc Esvant is a graduate of the IAE in Rennes and joined Verlingue as an Employee Benefits (EB) consultant in 2005 before becoming manager of the EB teams in Quimper, Nantes and Rennes. In 2015, he took over responsibility for the EB department, which represents 50% of Verlingue’s business.

 

Benjamin Verlingue, who is preparing to take over the management of the entire Adelaïde Group – which includes Verlingue, Génération and Coverlife -, remains Head of the Financial Institutions division while taking the responsibility for the foreign subsidiaries. He is also joining the group’s management bodies.
Aged 32, with a Master’s degree in insurance and risk management from the University of Paris-Dauphine, Benjamin Verlingue began his career in consulting at Deloitte, then in brokerage in the United States, before joining the family group.

 

Over the past three years, Verlingue has grown by more than 40% to reach a turnover of €166 million and a negotiated premium amount of €2 billion. The company has also embarked on an ambitious plan for differentiation through services, with the opening of a digital factory in Nantes and investing €40 million into the transformation of its businesses.

Its new “Verlingue 2022” strategic plan, shared with the company’s 1,100 employees in France, in Switzerland and the United Kingdom, aims to offer new disruptive services to its customers, ensure strong organic growth in the midcaps, large companies and speciality segments and pursue a significant acquisition program in France and abroad.

Eric Maumy, who will soon announce his new entrepreneurial venture, adds: “I had a brilliant time working alongside Jacques, who very early on entrusted me with the management of Verlingue.
